Never leave a car running with your dog inside.
A car owner discovered that his dog put his car in reverse and kept circling in a cul-de-sac for an hour before police came and stopped it.
A week ago, police went to a neighbourhood in Port St. Lucie in the US to investigate reports of a dog locked inside a car circling the cul-da-sac while in the reverse gear.
Police learned the owner of the car made a wrong turn, stopped his car, stepped out while the car engine was running, leaving the dog inside.
Max, the dog, accidentally hit the shifter into reverse causing the car to circle the cul-de-sac, leaving the owner locked out.
The video uploaded on YouTube by KGET 17 News shows a cop approaching the car to look inside.
As the car circled the cul-de-sac, it struck and damaged a mailbox.
The owner provided police with an extra car fob, however it was inoperable due to a dead battery, so police gained access by approaching the car and entering the code on the key pad located on the driver side door.
