Volunteers needed to help find lost puppy in West Vancouver

Staff report
July 11, 2019 4:08pm

A dog rescue company tasked with finding a lost puppy in West Vancouver is asking the community for help in finding Maisie. Canine Valley has been hired by the owner to find the six-month old puppy that was lost in the Caulfeild area of West Vancouver last week. Maisie had been recently spayed and has incisions and stitches.

In a message to the community, Canine Valley said those who want to help are requested to meet at 6 pm at the empty lot behind the Chevron station in West Vancouver. Here is the map link: https://goo.gl/maps/UibJgoChDhCwh23BA.

Please text 604-848-4401 or join their FB group to help.

“We will need at least 12 people, please confirm your presence. There is possibility of rain, please bring a rain jacket and or umbrella. We will have 2 groups doing different activities. If you can get friends or family to join you that would be great. Today is a day where we will really need more than less people due to the rexent sighting,” according to a social media post shared by the group.

Canine Valley is asking the public to keep their eyes peeled when out on bikes or walks. However, do not place food outside to lure her in because if she eats she will be less likely to come out to people.  Canine Valley is also asking people to check under their home, tarps, balconies, patios etc.

Canine Valley is also asking public to scan both Kijiji and Craigslist for her picture as several thefts have been reported in the region. There has been some sightings of Maisie at Caulfeild Village as well as in the Sandy Cove-Westmount neighbourhoods.
