Vancouver police are appealing for public assistance, including dashcam and CCTV footage, following an unprovoked assault at a Marpole bus stop earlier this month.
According to the news release, the assault occurred on July 7 at approximately 9:25 a.m. near Southwest Marine Drive and Ash Street, where a man was waiting for a bus when a male suspect approached him from behind, pushed him, and ripped the headphones off his head.
The suspect then allegedly struck the victim multiple times with a longboard-style skateboard, according to the news release. The victim fled the scene while calling 911 and sustained minor injuries to his forearm.
According to the news release, investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or drivers who may have dashcam footage from the area on Tuesday, to contact the VPD non-emergency line at 604-717-3321. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
