VPD seeks public’s help locating suspect in assault on senior near Kitsilano

Police are asking the public to help identify a man suspected of assaulting a 73-year-old near West Broadway and MacDonald Street.

Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of assaulting a senior in Kitsilano.

According to the news release by VPD, police were called on July 31 after a 73-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by an unidentified man near West Broadway and MacDonald Street shortly before 4 p.m. Investigators believe the suspect was yelling at passersby when the victim approached him and asked him to stop yelling and move along.

The two men became involved in a verbal altercation, during which the suspect allegedly pushed the victim to the ground, causing head injuries, according to the news release.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man with a medium build. At the time of the incident, he was shirtless and wearing grey shorts and white shoes, according to the news release. Anyone who recognizes the suspect is asked to call VPD investigators at 604-717-3321.
