Metro Vancouver is warning the community about dangerous water levels at Lynn Creek.

“Recent heavy rain has increased the height and flow in Lynn Creek, creating dangerous conditions,” warns Metro Vancouver.

“Stay well back from the edge of fast moving water and potentially unstable Creekside,”

Due to heavy rains, trails north of the switchbacks  to Norvan Falls, etc  in Lynn Headwaters Regional Park have been closed due to flooding.

Due to heavy rains, all trails, including the Grouse Grind trail, and the BCMC route in the Grouse Mountain Regional Park have also been closed.

Trails will only re-open when they have been assessed as safe.

A bridge on Headwaters Trail is also closed due to damage. A rough bypass route using flagging tape has been put in place, and people are asked to use caution during times of heavy rain.

District of North Vancouver Fire Services is also urging caution.

“River levels are extremely high this weekend. That’s Twin Falls below- it is as high as it has been in recent memory. Be very careful near any of the North Van Rivers,” the service said in a tweet.
