A 28-year-old man from West Vancouver allegedly mounted a Lyft car, ripped off the sunroof, and then attacked a parking enforcement officer with it in downtown Seattle on Thursday.
The police arrested the man after he went on a rampage, damaging several cars. Bystanders captured the incident in a dramatic video.
His violent spree started when he tried to strangle a random stranger near 2nd Ave and Seneca, according to a police report cited by Komo News. He then made his way down the street, jumping from car to car, and ripping the sunroof of a car.
“It was a very scary moment,” the Lyft driver told Komo news. “I didn’t know if this guy had a gun. I didn’t know what this guy was up to.”
Eventually, several bystanders tackled the man to the ground, but he continued to struggle, CTV reported. Even police had trouble restraining the man when they arrived. The man also tried to gouge out a police officer’s eyes and slammed his head on the ground.
