A West Vancouver police dog was instrumental in the rescue of a distraught man in the community.
WVPD received a call about a man who was in mental distress this morning.
When officers arrived, they determined that the man had was believed to be in a wooded area.
The police dog, PSD Jake, successfully tracked and located the man nearby. The man was safely taken into police custody without further use of PSD Jake.
He has since been connected with the appropriate resources to address his needs.
“Our K-9 units will often be used to locate individuals who may be missing and in need of immediate assistance,” said West Vancouver police.
