West Van to require vaccination proof at rec facilities

Proof of vaccination is required to access and participate in some District of West Vancouver recreation facilities, programs, and services.

The following will require proof of vaccination for anyone age 12+, and government photo ID for anyone age 19+:

All Seniors’ Activity Centre programs, dine-in service at the Garden Side Café, and to shop at SACS on 21st

fitness centres /weight rooms

indoor fitness and dance activities, including personal training, group fitness, yoga, pilates, cycling, Zumba, and dance

indoor dry-land rehabilitation programs

indoor sports, including masters swimming, public skating, stick & puck, hockey, soccer/futsal, volleyball, basketball, badminton, billiards, pickleball, and tennis

indoor programs and events with more than 50 participants

spectators of indoor sports (e.g. minor hockey and ringette)

However, proof of vaccination is not required for:

Seniors’ Activity Centre take-out food service, and use of the Fireside Coffee Bar & Lounge

swimming pools (excluding masters swimming)

children and youth sport and recreation activities for age 21 and under only

indoor programs and events with less than 50 participants (except for sport, fitness or dance activities with anyone age 22+)

When accessing the facilities, please have a BC Vaccine Card, and a valid government-issued photo ID with date of birth (e.g. driver’s license) for anyone age 19 and over.
