District of West Vancouver marked the groundbreaking of a new permanent Youth Hub on Pound Road in Ambleside Park on Thursday, June 25.

According to the news release, Mayor Mark Sager joined Council members, staff, youth, and supporters at the event to recognize the start of the project on the former Ambleside Youth Centre site.

The roughly 3,500-square-foot facility will include outdoor space and take over programs and services currently run out of the Youth Hub at Park Royal, according to the news release. The hub is intended to give youth a dedicated space focused on connection, well-being and a safe place to gather.

According to the news release, construction is set to begin in fall 2026, with the facility opening in 2027.
