West Vancouver police catch impaired driver speeding on highway

An impaired driver was stopped by West Vancouver police early Saturday morning after being clocked at 155 kilometres per hour on Highway 1. The incident occurred shortly after 8 a.m., according to police.

Shortly after 8 am Saturday morning, #WestVanPolice patrolling HWY 1 pulled over an impaired driver speeding at 155km/h. He was fined, issued a 90 day driving prohibition, and immediately had his vehicle towed and impounded for 30 days at his expense.

The driver was issued a $368 fine for excessive speeding, received a 90-day driving prohibition, and had their vehicle towed and impounded for 30 days at their own expense. West Vancouver Police remind the public of the dangers of impaired and high-speed driving, urging motorists to drive responsibly and arrive safely.

    To the West Vancouver Police officer. Thank you for your diligence in removing this person who posed a danger not only to others but themselves. Hard job but much appreciated.
