A West Vancouver Police officer is being honoured for his competitive rugby career. New inductees to the Rugby Ontario Hall of Fame have been announced and West Vancouver Police Detective Stephen Gray is among the class of 2017.
Detective Gray is being honoured for a distinguished rugby career including 47 international caps, three World Cup appearances (87’, 91’, 95’), and one Rugby Sevens World Cup appearance (93’).
Gray captained both the Canadian XVs and VIIs team on numerous occasions. In 1986, Gray set the Canadian record for most tries in a game with three.
Gray joined West Vancouver Police in 2004. He has served in the Patrol Division, as a member of the Joint Intelligence Group of the 2010 Olympics Integrated Security Unit, and currently serves as a Detective in the West Vancouver Police Criminal Investigation Section.
Gray and fellow inductees will officially join the Ontario Rugby Hall of Fame at ceremonies November 25, 2017 in Mississauga, Ontario.
