West Vancouver police are asking for witnesses and dashcam footage after an altercation between two drivers on Taylor Way Friday evening, the police department said in a media release.
The incident happened around 5:04 p.m. on October 10 in the southbound lanes of Taylor Way at Marine Drive. Police said a 74-year-old woman driving a grey 2010 Honda CR-V made contact with a grey pickup truck that had turned into her lane.
According to the West Vancouver Police Department (WVPD), both drivers got out of their vehicles after the contact. The male driver of the pickup allegedly began yelling, grabbed the woman’s arm, took her cell phone, and threw it across several lanes of traffic before driving away.
The suspect is described as a man in his mid-50s, about six feet tall, with a medium build, grey hair, and a short grey beard. He was driving an older model, early 2000s Chevy Silverado with damage to the passenger side.
“We are looking to speak with the male driver of the Chevy Silverado,” the WVPD said in the statement. “As traffic was heavy and moving slowly at the time, we are hopeful that there are witnesses to this event who can provide valuable information.”
