Residents of West Vancouver will have an opportunity to learn more about a proposed multi-unit housing development on Queens Avenue later this month. According to the District of West Vancouver’s development application summary, the applicant for 1439, 1441, and 1445 Queens Avenue will host a public consultation on Wednesday, October 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre.
The preliminary proposal is to redevelop the sites with three duplexes. Each duplex unit is designed to have a private yard and a dedicated garage.
The consultation is being held as part of the early review process before the application proceeds to the District for consideration.
According to the District, this session is organized and hosted by the applicant, not by municipal staff, and is intended to provide residents with an opportunity to ask questions and share feedback directly with the development team.
The feedback gathered during the session will be compiled into a summary report and submitted to the District as part of the official application materials. This process allows the applicant to address community concerns before any staff review or council decision takes place.
In a notice on its website, the District of West Vancouver said the event aims to “help residents understand the proposed changes to the site and provide an opportunity to offer comments or suggestions.”
The redevelopment site sits on the north side of Queens Avenue, a residential area characterized by single-family homes and views of Burrard Inlet. The proposed project would introduce a form of gentle density in an established neighbourhood, a topic that continues to generate discussion in West Vancouver as the community explores housing diversity and affordability.
Details about the project, including architectural drawings, a site plan, and supporting documents, are available on the District’s Development Applications webpage.
Residents who cannot attend the consultation in person can view these materials online and submit written comments through the same portal.
