District of West Vancouver has found partners to help shape the future of the former Boathouse building in Horseshoe Bay.

At their regular meeting on Monday, Mayor Mark Sager and Council announced the District is now working with the Howe Sound Biosphere Region Initiative Society and the Sitka Foundation to help determine future programming and use of the facility.

According to the news release, the partnership reflects a shared interest in creating a welcoming public space to support community, cultural, environmental, and educational opportunities for residents and visitors.

The District purchased the former Boathouse building on the Horseshoe Bay waterfront in February 2025 to create a vibrant community-serving cultural facility. Following further review and community discussions, the District expanded its approach and invited Expressions of Interest for naming rights and partnership opportunities connected to the building’s renovation and long-term use of the site.

According to the news release, additional details on programming, renovations, and future uses for the facility will be shared as planning work continues.
