District of West Vancouver will hold a public hearing on June 29 on a proposed rezoning and infill housing development at 1552 Esquimalt Avenue.
According to the notice, the proposed bylaws would allow infill strata tenure housing alongside the continued use of existing rental units, up to a total site density of 3.0 Floor Area Ratio. The site would be rezoned to CD60 (Comprehensive Development Zone 60) to permit apartment buildings at that density, and the existing building would be secured as rental housing.

A development permit would regulate the form and character of the proposed apartment building and landscaping, according to the notice.
The hearing begins at 6 p.m. at Municipal Hall Council Chamber, 750 17th Street, and will also be accessible via Zoom. Residents wishing to speak via Zoom must call 604-925-7004 on June 29 to be added to the speakers list. Those attending in person may address the council for up to five minutes. The hearing will also be livestreamed on YouTube at youtube.com/@WestVanDistrict.
Written submissions must be received by noon on June 29 to be included in the public information package for council’s consideration, according to the notice. Submissions can be emailed to correspondence@westvancouver.ca, mailed to Legislative Services at 750 17th Street, or dropped off at boxes located at the north and west entrances to Municipal Hall.
