Lions Gate Hospital Foundation is teaming up with Capilano Suspension Bridge Park to bring life-saving equipment to the Intensive Care Unit at LGH.
To encourage people to donate, the foundation is giving away 100 Annual Family Passes worth $188 to the iconic North Shore attraction. Each pass is valid for two adults and two youths under 17 years of age, including Canyon Lights, for one year. The passes are valid for all year.
People are invited to fill out an entry form on www.lghfoundation.com/capilano/ for a chance to enter to win the pass. The deadline is August 2 at 11:59 pm.
The free passes are part of a new campaign to bring life-saving equipment to the Lions Gate Hospital. The ICU ventilators are reaching the end of their life, and the foundation is encouraging people to donate to buy three ventilators, each costing $40,000.
“We are asking you to help us purchase new ventilators to support patients that are fighting for their life,” said Judy Savage, President and CEO of the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. For every dollar donated by residents, Capilano Suspension Bridge will make a matching gift.
“One dollar from you means two dollars for LGH. Not only will your donations double the impact, all of the money will go directly to purchase the ventilators needed to provide critical support for the sickest patients in the hospital,” Savage said. Capilano Suspension Bridge Park is supporting the hospital with a promise to double all donations received for a campaign up to the value of $65,000.
Savage said the new generation of ventilators could be used on babies, children and adults, and are fully mobile to allow staff to move patients between departments while maintaining respiratory support.
“The chance to win a family pass is a great deal for our donors and the wider community that relies on the hospital for their emergency, acute, and chronic health needs,” Savage said.
