Why West Vancouverites should buy local: An argument from 1928

March 9, 2021 11:42am

“A great majority of the residents of the district are property owners, and, as such are interested in its progress. Non-support of local storekeepers means in the long run poor stores. Poor stores mean an arrested growth in population and a slump in property values, because one of the first things a prospective resident looks at are the stores.”

Sounds somewhat familiar? Strikes a chord?

This was written way back in September 1928 in West Van News but still sounds fresh.

Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association has recently shared on its Facebook page this editorial from West Van News, asking locals to buy local.

Click on the link below and read the full editorial which passionately argues why locals should buy local.
