Metro Vancouver has issued a wind warning for North Shore and other Metro Vancouver communities.
An intense Pacific cold front will move across the south coast this afternoon.
Strong southerly winds this morning will shift to strong northwest this afternoon in the wake of the front.
Northwest winds are expected to reach 70 km/h gusting to 90 near the water by this evening.
Winds will ease overnight as a ridge builds over the region.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
