Woman assaulted, robbed in Downtown Eastside

According to the news release by VPD, a woman was approached by an unknown female suspect at approximately 9:30 p.m., who assaulted her and stole her cellphone before fleeing the area. Officers were flagged down by members of the public following the incident.

According to the news release, investigators have conducted a video canvass of the area and are now seeking additional witnesses and surveillance footage. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV footage, dashcam footage, or other video recorded in the area around the time of the robbery is asked to contact the Vancouver Police Department.
