The District has received a rezoning, development permit, and Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment application for a proposed townhouse development. The proposal aims to rezone the site with four properties to facilitate a 37-unit townhouse development on Woodcrest Road in the Cypress Park area.
The development will be located at 4430 Woodcrest Road, 4450 Woodcrest Road, 4460 Woodcrest Road and 4504 Woodgreen Drive.
The development will have underground parking – accessed from the southwest corner of the site – and provide for four townhouse buildings and one private amenity building, which all surround a central courtyard. The proposal includes sidewalk and trail upgrades on the periphery of the site.
The proposal is being considered under OCP policy, which allows for site-specific rezoning applications appropriate to the subject site and local context. The applicant previously held a preliminary public information meeting on September 9, 2021, and the Council reviewed the initial proposal for 44 townhouse units on February 14, 2022.
Applicant-hosted Public Information Meeting
The applicant is hosting a public information meeting on the proposed development on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Art Studio at the West Vancouver Community Centre at 2121 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. The applicant will be available to provide information, answer questions, and seek public input on the proposal.
The proposed townhouse units range in size from 1,210 to 1,766 square feet. The development will have a mixture of two and three-bedroom units. According to the District staff, the proposal can provide family-oriented housing for the ‘missing middle,’ not widely available in West Vancouver for downsizers and first-time home buyers.
